May is Mental Health Awareness Month and a good reminder of the importance of taking care of ourselves. Behavioral Health services play a critical role in helping survivors of abuse heal beyond their immediate safety. Abuse often leaves lasting emotional effects such as anxiety, depression, and trauma that can impact daily life and relationships. Our services provide a safe, confidential space where survivors can process their experiences without judgment. Therapy helps individuals rebuild self-worth and challenge harmful beliefs shaped by abuse. It also supports the development of healthy coping strategies to replace survival behaviors that no longer serve them. Access to trauma-informed care ensures survivors receive support tailored to their unique needs. Behavioral health services can help break cycles of abuse by fostering awareness and healthier patterns and empower survivors to move forward with resilience, stability, and a renewed sense of control over their lives. If you are interested in enrolling in services at San Luis Valley Behavioral Health Group, you can complete an intake in person or over the phone on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, or on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 am - 6.00 pm. They have in-person, telehealth, and group therapy options available. If you are in need of immediate help their mobile crisis team is available 24/7, 365 days a year.
